Welcome to all the guests today - Paul Richer brought  Paul Melrose-Wyatt and Darren and Joem Weinkauf.  Congratulation to Brighter Horizon Financial Services (Darren Weinkauf) whose business was the recipient of the 2013 Chamber Integrity Award sponsored by the Border City Club.

The winner of the Auction gift was Richard Young but in claiming his prize Richard didn’t have much to relate to the club during the past week because he is  moving to his acreage.  Moving never leaves much time for fun!!

Our own Ron Gillies with Rotarian colleague Donna Challis of North Battleford were the speakers.  They gave a summary of how libraries have been moving into electronic delivery of information and content and reviewed a wide list of materials available with your library card. To read books, magazines and newspapers online or on your tablet or smartphone all you need is a library card, available free or for a low cost at your local library.

Gallivanting Gonzo is on the move, touching base with Rotarians, and hoping to raise dollars for Polio Plus.    Each person who receives Gonzo has to pay $25.00 and then pass him along someone else ASAP    Dollars raised will be matched at the various levels (District/RI) and has the potential to triple the earnings.  It was the intent that Rotarians would  ‘drop off’ Gonzo to someone and at the same time have a little visit with another Rotarian. However, in order to speed things up a motion was made  that Gonzo can be passed around at the meetings to a maximum of 3 times.

Billiards Night is the last Wednesday of every month at The Sticks @ 7:00 p.m.  This evening is intended as an evening for Rotary fellowship  and in the process to help raise a few dollars for the Rotary KIVA project.  Each person attending is asked to contribute $5.00 to the cause.

President Paul introduced into the meeting what he would like to call a ‘Fraternal Moment’.  This will provide the members with an opportunity to bring the club up-to-date on any Rotarian and/or Partner who may be sick,  in hospital or in any distress.  The membership, in turn,  will then be able to provide support by way of a visit, card or however they choose.

Next week we will hear from one of new Rotarians, Charlene Rowein, who will be giving her Vocational.  Vocational talks have always been enjoyed by the membership as they have an opportunity to hear and learn things about the new members who have joined the Rotary family.

No meeting Monday, November 11th – Remembrance Day
