TODAY we have our local chapter of Junior Achievement Saskatchewan joining us with 20+ students from the LPSD as well as few of the punks from the Tuesday Rotary Club. We will hear about the JA organization, what is being done through JA in Lloydminster, and even go through a lesson plan together with our student guests. (Please note: This is not a request for funding meeting, just education and awareness)
Ideally, I'd like to see 12 local businesses represented outside of our current membership in attendance at our meeting. Please make a call or two from your rolodex to fill the room. If you are brining a guest, please let Pat know.
Junior Achievement (JA) reaches more young people than any other organization outside of the school system. JA delivers business education programs in elementary, middle and high schools in partnership with volunteers, businesses and educators in 122 countries around the world.
The objectives of the programs are to: promote interaction between business professionals and future employees; develop teamwork, critical thinking and decision-making skills; promote an understanding of basic business and economic terms such as production, marketing, research, investment, budgets, taxes, and credit; build self-confidence and self-esteem in the students; and understand the importance of goal-setting, planning and dealing with the unexpected
