Message from the Polish Prince:

Dear Rotarians,

As we embark on a new Rotary year, we are enthused with the opportunities that we are presented.  As the Chair of the Programs Committee, I'd like to build on the successes of the committee last year and attempt to go a bit beyond.

In order to do this, I am requesting the help of the Club at large.  We ALL agree that great programs contribute to member recruitment!  The Program Committee NEEDS the help of the membership to bring in top draw speakers.  Here are just a few examples to get you thinking...

  • Motivational
  • Current events "hot topics",
  • World trends, global concerns
  • Engaging youth
  • Technology and Science
  • Baby Boomer retirees, labor shortage, millennials,
  • Islamophobia
  • Civil Security, monitoring, technology,
  • Sports celebrities and heroes
  • Petroleum industry issues (alternate fuels, environmental, foreign control, pricing, trends..)
  • Political reform, voter apathy, corruption (Kevin O'Leary)
  • Super human feats / achievements in spite of challenges...
  • and a host of other topics too numerous to mention; while we still meet our obligations to vocational talks, local groups and club assembly.

Many organizations, municipalities, banks/CUs, companies and associations are bringing these speakers into Lloydminster on a variety of missions and/or professional development

ANYONE who hears of speakers on engagements in our Community or speakers at large you'd like to suggest; WE WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THEM!!

We want to know about them so we can have them speaker at our club  meeting or perhaps retain them for a fundraising engagement.

Bottom line; let's recruit great, engaging, inspiring speakers, bring guests, invite the public and grow Rotary.

Can we secure 12 top draw speakers this year by reaching beyond our club??

I'll be distributing a PROGRAMS COMMITTEE invitation to a strategizing meeting soon.  We'll explore "outside the box" ways to distribute duties, collaborate to recruit speakers and brainstorm by utilizing all individuals who have signed up to be on PROGRAMS COMMITTEE.

At any time, send me an email with suggestions, ideas, or tips on potential speakers or topics: bugieras@telus.net

With Regards,

Stan Bugiera
