Mbogo Group’s Story
Six years ago, the banana plantations, the principal source of income for the island, were decimated. That being the case, Marie had to start up a business to cover family expenses. Thus she began to buy up agricultural produce (haricot beans, soy beans, peanuts, manioc, etc.) This loan will be devoted to chipped manioc and dried haricot beans. Marie points out the lack of outlets for selling their produce on the local level. Often she has to go all the way into town to manage it.
Thus, Marie hopes to build a depot to preserve the produce that she has for sale until a period of scarcity where the price is somewhat advantageous for her. Marie is wearing a white sweater in the photo.
