June 27th - Mark Your Calendars
On Monday June 27th, we will be holding our annual President's Dinner (no noon meeting) where we recognize and thank our President Wayde for his hard work and commitment over the past year.

Please invite your significant others, friends, and potential Rotary members and we look back at the 2015-2016 year.

Photos From Rotary International
I can't begin to tell you have much I enjoyed my time in Seoul and the Rotary International Convention.  The convention was attended by roughly 40,000 delegates representing roughly 80 countries.   So many cultures, so many faces, so many personalities, so many demographics, so many religions but we all want the same thing; a better world.

I know this get's said by many before me but if you ever get a chance to attend a Rotary International Convention, I strongly suggest you do so.  Next year the convention is in Atlanta Georgia and it is my hope that we will see at least THREE of our members attend the event.

Committees for 2016-2017

Thank you to everyone that signed up for committees!

You should be getting an email from one of us on the executive in the next little while to introduce each of you to the committees you have signed up for.  Some of the committees are in still in need of a committee chair.  If you would like to chair the committee you are on, please let one of us know.

RYPEN or BUST!

Our club along with the Border City club have sponsored EIGHT youth to attend RYPEN.  Craig Tory from the Lloydminster Community Youth Centre organized the selection process and transportation.  They left first thing Thursday morning and are having a blast already I'm sure.  We look forward to hearing all about the weekend when they get back.

RYPEN is a five-day Rotary camp taking place May 19 - 23 at the Jasper Palisades Eductaion Centre that is created for young people who want to grow but have limited opportunities to attend other development programs. You will learn new things about yourself and the world around you. RYPEN (Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment) is sponsored by Rotary International District 5370.

Lobsterfest = ANOTHER SUCCESS!
Congrats everyone on helping, supporting, or attending the 2016 edition of our Rotary Lobsterffest.  It was a complete success.  We sold roughly 700 tickets, we planted the seed of Rotary with those 700 guests, we had a blast, and we raised some money while doing it.  At this past Monday's meeting Jill did handed out the thank yous so I won't spend time repeating that.  You know who you are and we all thank you. Final numbers will be announced at one of the next meetings but money raised for just the Fort McMurray Fire Relief Fund (through our District) is roughly $4300.

Fort McMurray Fire Relief Fund

The Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation has established the “Fort McMurray Fire Relief Fund” to assist in the rebuilding of that city following this tragic fire.  The Charitable Foundation is now ready to accept donations, for which tax receipts will be issued.  The Foundation will rely on an independent committee of Fort McMurray stakeholders (including the Rotary clubs and the municipality) for advice on disbursal of the funds.

Donations may be from individuals or corporations.  Rotary clubs may wish to facilitate this process by collecting donations, and then forwarding either the individual cheques or a cheque drawn on the club’s account for the total amount, along with a list of the donors and their addresses and postal codes.

Please make cheques payable to:  "Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation" and forward to:

Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation

If you wish to make a donation using a charge card, you may do so using ATB Cares.  ATB matches donations with an additional 15%.  Here’s the link:
